Mobley Surf Boards:
Begin with Walker foam, which is a high-density
Polyurethane foam molded into rough blanks.
Walker foam best resembles the characteristics of the traditional surf board blanks of yesterday. Its' weight and density are conducive to surf board shapers who are inspired by the classics.
Are hand shaped to the customers preference.
Mobley Surf Boards are available in many lengths and templates.
Are laminated with Volan fiberglass, which
is a flat weave fiberglass cloth. Regular surf board fiberglass is a lightweight twist weave that dings and shatters with less impact than Volan. Volan fiberglass resists shattering dings and holds up better after minor damage. Volan is stronger and heavier than regular glass and works together with other traditional materials to produce a quality surf board.
Are colored with Pigment. Resin pigment is
the standard coloring process for Mobley Surf Boards. Pigments, either in the fiberglass lay-up or applied just under the gloss, are available in all colors. Airbrushing is also available.
Are your choice for a well built reliable surf boards.
Mobley Surf Boards are constructed for people who want a classic feel while not resigning high speed hot-dogging performance. You can say Mobley Surf Boards are yesterday's surf boards-built today.
2000 Surf Rodeo
Mobley Surf Boards was present for the 2000 Surf Rodeo sponsored by the Beach Hut and the Red Head Clothing Company. It was held, as it is every year, at the end of Seaward Avenue in Ventura California July 22 & 23. Many people attended the event which included live music, BBQ, a mechanical bull on the beach, surfing contest, crafts, and many clothing booths along with the Mobley Surf Boards display. Raging Arb & The Redheads was the featured band, closing out the first day of festivities.
With perfect weather for the event, the people who packed the streets and beach gathered to watch many of the local surfers compete on old classic single fin and twin fin surfboards, all while donning the mandatory cowboy hat during each heat. Through the baby-oiled boards, or "greased pig" event, and the mechanical bull-riding contest came the professional exposition with the likes of the Three Brothers Malloy, Tim Curran, Sean Hayes, Conan Hayes, Rob Marchado, and Kelly Slater. Look for Mobley Surf Boards next July participating in the 2001 Surf Rodeo.
